Rick Ohlrich, Director

Rick Ohlrich is the Director of the Alameda County SBDC. He joined the ACSBDC as a counselor at the end of 2006 and was asked to assume the role of Lead Business Advisor in January 2008. Prior to joining the Alameda County SBDC, Rick spent over 20 years in new product development, new product introductions, many aspects of sales, sales management and marketing and in growing revenue for new products and services.

Rick has an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration and a BSIE degree from Purdue University.

Paula Groves, Lead Business Advisor

Paula Groves serves as the Lead Business Advisor for the Alameda County SBDC. She has over 15 years of private equity and investment experience and helped generate over $85 million in returns to investors. Her experience includes working with start-up companies, firms interested in acquisition strategies and businesses seeking growth and buy-out financing. Having appeared on CNNfn and The Money Gang, she frequently speaks about private equity. In addition, Ms. Groves has worked with Leo Burnett advertising agency, and Twentieth Century Fox Film. She has also served as board member for several for profit and nonprofit organizations.

Ms. Groves has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Stanford University.

Sarah Dolph, Project Manager

Sarah Dolph joined the Alameda County SBDC team in October 2009 as the project manager. She helps coordinate and implement events and seminars, manages the budget, and develops and distributes marketing material. Prior to working for the ACSBDC, Sarah gained experience at the East Bay Center for International Trade Development and the Bay Area World Trade Center.

Sarah has B.S. in International Business and a B.A. in Japanese Language from the University of Montana.
